Barça Set to Play First Match at Renovated Camp Nou this Saturday

Barcelona have announced their first game will take place at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in La Liga 30 months after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise an updated entryway for the team along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted an open training session at the Camp Nou earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from European football’s governing body to host the next European match versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. They have been hosting matches at the Olympic Stadium.
